Eric holds a Juris Doctor degree from the Singapore Management University and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies (with Business Minor) degree from Nanyang Technological University.

During the course of his studies, Eric interned at the cross border business control department of a leading international bank in Singapore as well as the Singapore Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He was also chosen by the Singapore Tourism Board to participate in the Shanghai World Expo.

In 2015, Eric was selected to speak at the inaugural Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) Youth Forum held in conjunction with the Asian Society of International Law (AsianSIL) Inter-Sessional Regional Conference. The theme of his presentation was the rule of law and sustainable development in Asia. Eric focused on the role of technology and Smart Cities in sustainable development, and the role the legal system could play in facilitating these developments.

Eric is proficient in English and Chinese, and has received training at the Singapore Mediation Centre and the Ministry of Law Community Mediation Centre.
